Training: 2 hrs
-
This choose-your-own adventure-style training offers individuals a variety of machines and tools to pick from that would best suit their current project or fabrication needs.
-
Your training(s) will last anywhere from .5 to 2 hours depending on the tool/machine. Please keep in mind the estimated training time and your own availability when signing up.
-
Please come to your training wearing proper PPE, including close toed shoes, short sleeves, long pants, no jewelry, and hair in a bun. We will provide any additional PPE required (safety glasses or welding gear) unless you prefer to bring your own! Thanks!
-
A safety tour/4th floor ability badge is required prior to attending this training. If you need to complete your safety tour prior to training, please arrive 15 minutes beforehand to complete this.
-
Our trainers can also train a second participant- just message us and let us know if you plan to bring a friend!
-
Registration already filled? Send the FAB manager an email at rss198@case.edu with the training date and time, and she can let you know if we can slot you in as a second participant. The attendee/registered person gets to pick the training, and choose to bring a friend, but there may be room for you to tag along :) so don't hesitate to ask!
-
We also take training requests, and do our best to accommodate: https://airtable.com/appMShjmNw0G7a2dk/shreHrXz5dRehdoKn

Membership
Sears think[box] is a free and public-access facility. We welcome everyone to join our community to create, innovate, and explore. Access to think[box] resources requires registering for a membership.
There are two steps to member registration at think[box]. There's no cost associated with think[box] membership.
Step 1
Fill out our Registration Form. When you submit the form you will receive a confirmation number by text and/or email. We recommend you do this before you come to think[box]. Otherwise, we will have you fill it out at our welcome desk.
If you are a parent or guardian bringing a minor to think[box], you must also fill out a Minor Registration Form on their behalf. Please see our K-12 policies for more information.
Step 2
When you come to think[box] we'll complete your registration at the front desk. We'll do three things:
- Ask for your confirmation number.
- Take your picture.
- Scan your photo ID (driver's license, passport, school/military ID, etc).
Once you have a think[box] ID card you're a member! You will scan your ID at our welcome desk to sign in each time you visit.
