The Kresge Foundation is a private, national foundation that works to expand opportunities in America's cities through grantmaking and social investing in arts, culture, education, environment, health, human services and community development.
Opportunity Cle is an initiative for Opportunity Zone investment in Cleveland and Cuyahoga County.
"An Opportunity Zone is an economically-distressed community where new investments, under certain conditions, may be eligible for preferential tax treatment. Localities qualify as Opportunity Zones if they have been nominated for that designation by the state and that nomination has been certified by the Secretary of the U.S. Treasury via his delegation of authority to the Internal Revenue Service." The Fund for our Economic Future is a funding alliance made up of more than 40 organizations and individuals dedicated to advancing economic growth with equitable access to opportunity for the people of Northeast Ohio — an approach they call Growth & Opportunity.
To achieve Growth & Opportunity, the Fund promotes and supports integrated strategies to improve job creation, job preparation and job access. They do this through research and awareness building, collaboration building in local communities, and grantmaking. They work across the 18 counties of Northeast Ohio, in and around the metropolitan areas of Akron, Canton, Cleveland, and Youngstown.

Aaron Seybert

Aaron Seybert is managing director of the Social Investment Practice at The Kresge Foundation.
He previously served as a social investment officer supporting the American Cities and Detroit Programs at Kresge. He joined the foundation in 2016. Prior to Kresge, he served as executive director at JPMorgan Chase Bank, where he was involved with community development banking focused on New Markets Tax Credits and Historic Tax Credit investing.
He started his career in impact investing at Cinnaire (formerly the Great Lakes Capital Fund) addressing affordable housing, and previously worked with Legal Aid of Central Michigan. He has served on the board of directors for the Michigan Magnet Fund, Lake Trust Credit Union and the Core Cities Strategic Fund advisory board.
A native of Michigan, Aaron earned a bachelor in business administration in corporate finance and accounting from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., and a juris doctorate from the Michigan State University College of Law. (kresge.org)

Bradford’s work is to spread the Fund's Growth & Opportunity framework across the Northeast Ohio region. As the Director of Regional Engagement, he connects with key stakeholders, from neighborhood-based leaders to regional civic actors in the state of Ohio and beyond, to adapt and align economic development strategies to meet community needs and drive a persistent focus on systemic racial inclusion. Previously representing a local manufacturing firm on the international stage, Bradford continues to travel in his free time and finds joy in experiencing the richness of other cultures. He’s an avid lover of cities and a committed urbanist.
