Ashi has over ten years of experience in healthcare and is passionate about access to care. He has worked at University of California—San Francisco (UCSF), Columbia University Medical Center, Genentech, the US Department of Veterans Affairs, along with various smaller organizations and non-profits.

At UCSF, Ashi wrote his hospital’s policy for discounting and payment plans, as well as oversaw the team responsible for carrying them out. He was frequently called by doctors, patients, and family members on weekends, early mornings, and late nights trying to figure out how they could afford their medical bills. Frustrated at how confusing and challenging the health system made these options for patients, he founded MCSquared Health.

Ashi earned his Master’s in Public Health with a specialization in Healthcare Administration from Columbia University. He also holds a Bachelor's in Medical Anthropology from Case Western Reserve University.
