Vice Dean Lia Logio Message

Back to School Season!!

Everyone’s busy doing their thing. Change is in the air with cooler temperature and some leaves landing on the ground already. Apple-picking season will be here before you know it.

I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming class meetings. One of the items I share during those events are the annual mistreatment data. I’ll include it here, too, so there is full transparency about our efforts to optimize your learning environment.

Oh, and did you know, you can now submit praises and kudos about individuals who go above and beyond in the Accountability Management System. Try it out next time someone surprises you with goodness under “Celebrate Exemplary Contributions!”

For the AY 2024-2025, a total of 43 individual reports were received that represent 37 unique events. More than one third (37.2%) were reported anonymously. Here’s the breakdown of those 37 reports.

Staff Spotlight

Meet Holly Stegh, Career Planning Specialist

I've been at the SOM since April 2025!I am a native Clevelander! I went to school at The Ohio State University and majored in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences with a minor in Communications. Majority of my work experience is in the healthcare industry. I love to spend time outdoors, cook, read, and travel. I am also a big sports fan (I actually met my fiancé, Brandon, at the Big Ten Championship game back in 2019)!

About your role...

As a Career Planning Specialist in the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), I help coordinate a variety of career planning activities to help students explore careers in medicine. I am passionate about supporting students throughout their medical education and helping them utilize resources so they feel empowered when making important career decisions!

How do you approach your work?

The OSA strives to be an inclusive space for all. I was a first-generation college student, so I know how daunting it can feel to be in a space you are very unfamiliar with. I hope that all students feel welcome when they enter the OSA and know that we are here to support you!

Favorite thing about your job?

My favorite part of the job is getting to work with our students. It is very rewarding to be in a service-oriented role and to know that you are making a difference in the lives of others. I've enjoyed getting to know everyone, and if I haven't met you yet, I look forward to getting to know you in the future!

Something in Cleveland you would like to see...

I would love to explore Cuyahoga Valley National Park! I've only been once and it was a long time ago, so I'm planning on going back soon!
