Relay For Life is an annual overnight fundraising event at CWRU for the American Cancer Society, where the university and the community come together to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against cancer. This year, the event will take place from on Saturday, April 6th in Veale Athletic Center. We are excited to announce that this year’s theme will be Disney! Activities and entertainment at the event will be based on this theme and teams may incorporate this theme into their booth as well!
If you register a team between 10/8 and 10/12, you get a FREE T-SHIRT!! Having a team is an amazing way to get involved and support the fight against cancer. To start a team, simply sign your team up online at www.relayforlife.org/cwru. It's never too early to make a team. After your team is created, other members can join and begin fundraising. After you create a team or if you have any questions, your Team Ambassador will be in in touch with you about fundraising ideas and how you can prepare for Relay as we approach the event.
Between October 15th and November 2nd, Antonio or Sabrina, along with your RA will be conducting HEALTH & SAFETY checks in every room. Each room will be checked one time over the 3 week period. It is not necessary for residents to be present in the room in order for the check to take place. You will all be given a rough estimate of when the checks will be taking place, but you will not be given a specific date or time. The purpose of the checks are to ensure that health and safety concerns are addressed and any other issues and concerns are addressed as well.
