Settling Into CWRU
The semester is really kicking off! Hopefully, your first few weeks at Case have been an exciting time full of new experiences and new people! After a quiet summer it’s been nice to see the library become busy again and all of the new faces.
In this month’s newsletter we feature Cramelot Cafe, tell you a little bit more about the Freedman Center, explain how to check out a book, and highlight upcoming events!
The Spaces of KSL
The winner of our “Select Your Space” contest, Nivedita Srinivasan, chose Cramelot Cafe on the first floor of KSL as her favorite spot in the library. She described it as, “a peaceful and calm place to sit, have a light snack, and chit chat with your friends”. She also loves the amenities of windows to gaze out of and that accessible charging ports that make it a great spot to work! Cramelot Cafe is the perfect spot to meet your friends, grab a coffee in between classes, or pick up some snacks before a long study session.
Cramelot Cafe Hours
Sunday: Noon - 9 PM

Peer Review Week
Thursday, September 22 at 12:00pm
to Friday, September 23 at 1:00pm
Kelvin Smith Library recognizes and supports our researchers on campus and will be hosting activities that highlight the ways in which peer review contributes to and reinforces trust in scholarship. This year's theme, "Research Integrity: Creating and supporting trust in research" has inspired two events to celebrate the essential role that peer review plays in maintaining research quality.
Scroll to register and see details on one virtual, and one in-person activity with light refreshments.
PEER REVIEW WEEK
Peer Review Week is a community-led yearly global event that brings together individuals, institutions, and organizations committed to sharing the central message that quality peer review in whatever shape or form it may take is critical to scholarly communication.
WHY PEER REVIEW WEEK?
To emphasize the central role peer review plays in scholarly communication
To showcase the work of editors and reviewers
To share research and advance best practices
To highlight the latest peer review innovations and applications
We hope to see you at one or both of Kelvin Smith Library's scheduled activities for Peer Review Week 2022!
