CWRU SOM VITALS - Disability Health Equity Panel: "Reimagining Disability as a Strength in Healthcare"

Please join us for a VITALS panel discussion on Disability Health Equity. While more than 20% of Americans live with a disability, there is still a call for greater attention to address concerns within medical school curriculums, hospital resources, clinical accommodations, and clinical treatment. Additionally, there is also a need to heighten awareness of advancements and disparities in healthcare among Physicians and patients with disabilities. Currently, 3.1% of practicing physicians have a disability. Increasing physician diversity would have a positive impact on patient care and practice. Eboni Porter, M.Ed, Director, Disability Resources, CWRU Rachel Lutner, JD, Office of Equity, CWRU Julia Knopes, Ph.D., Research Scientist, Department of Ethics, CWRU School of Medicine and others.
