Welcome to Fall Semester

First things first: Everyone, please welcome our 50+ newest members!! We are so excited to have you in ILS!

We'd also like to re-introduce our leadership team! Meet...

 Kendyl Biondich, President
Kendyl is a triple-degree graduate student pursuing a full-time JD, MBA, and Masters in Compliance and Risk Management. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 2021 with degrees in both English and Psychology, with minors in Business Leadership (BLM) and Science,Technology, and Law (STL). In Kendyl’s free time, she enjoys dancing, ice skating, hiking, and spending time with her cat, Nell.

Adrienne Pohl, Vice President
Adrienne is a graduate of the University of St. Andrews and holds an MA (Hons) in Art History—Film Studies. Despite growing up in rural Ohio, she is interested in comparative international and national security law. Her hobbies include staying inside when it rains, reading, and drinking warm beverages.
Elizabeth Broderick, Secretary

Elizabeth has an American Studies BA from Brigham Young University-Provo, and now studies human rights law, particularly rights of free expression. In the wild, you will likely find her at the Metroparks Zoo's red panda exhibit or Playhouse Square's latest musical theater production.
Liz Julian, Treasurer
Elizaveta (Liz) was a practicing lawyer in Russia before moving to the United States two years ago. International law and compliance are her current areas of legal interest, though she also enjoys talking about machine learning and its application in the legal field. She has two adopted kittens, and loves curling up with them to do her reading.

 Alexandre Heuzé, LLM Liason
Alexandre, from Bordeaux, France, holds French (Bordeaux University), British (Middlesex University LLB), and American (Case LLM) legal degrees. He is a big sports fan, and enjoys everything from sailing to basketball to soccer. He is interested in international business law, and plans to take the bar in the US and UK.

1L Rep Election
If you are a 1L, please consider applying to become our 1L Rep, an extrememly valuable member of our leadership team. As our 1L Rep, you would be expected to:
  • Attend weekly ILS leadership meetings (Wednesdays at noon)
  • Contribute your perspective on the interests, needs, and scheduling conflicts for 1L members of ILS
  • Publicize upcoming ILS events in your 1L classes
    • This requires asking professors for permission to make an announcement at the start of class
    • Talk to people you know! And people you don't know!
  • Attend ILS general body meetings as much as possible (Tuesdays at noon; roughly every three weeks)

The deadline to apply is Friday September 8th at 11:59pm: https://forms.gle/nXLhRkqDy1L2ZUju9. Your answers will be used to help people decide whether to vote for you, so answer carefully! Feel free to email any member of our leadership team if you have questions.
