Subject: Welcome Back! and (almost) Happy Lunar New Year! [OMA Newsletter]

Dear First_Name,

OMA Newsletter

Happy Lunar New Year (almost)

Lunar New Year begins Sunday, January 22. The holiday is one of the biggest celebrations across Asia and the Asian diaspora, and represents new beginnings and the renewal of good health, happiness, and fortune.
The Chinese calendar follows a zodiac of 12 animals which is attributed with traits and symbols that hold meaning for what’s to come in the new year. Rabbit years bring lucky breaks and partnerships, for those on their true paths. Although Rabbit is not the strongest animal, its charm and speed attract money, fertility, lovers and success.
In 2023, the Year of the Rabbit is attached to the element of Water. A Water Rabbit year has not occurred since 1963.
During the Lunar New Year, it’s tradition to gift red envelopes of money, which are meant to bring good luck. Tea, fruits, sweets, and new clothes and home supplies are custom as well. In the Year of the Rabbit, any item with a rabbit motif would be a great gift.

The Dream Fund

Beginning January 17, 2023, under-resourced undergraduate students will have the opportunity to apply for a $2,500 award from the newly-created Dream Fund.
The Dream Fund is made possible by the commitment of a generous donor who believes strongly in providing the resources for students to broaden their access to co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
The best part is, there is no GPA requirement! You simply have to be in good academic and conduct standing with the university.
