Students, we are excited to see you back on campus in just a few weeks. To those of you who will be new to campus, we can't wait to meet you!
While we hope the excitement of a new semester has you in high spirits, we recognize that sometimes returning to campus can also be an adjustment for the mind and body. If you are in need of support, University Health and Counseling Services is here to provide medical, mental health, wellness and public health services to all CWRU, CIA, CIM and KSU Podiatry students. All visits to UH&CS are no-cost to students, regardless of the type of health insurance you may have.

Fresh Check Day
This Fall, on September 12th from 11 AM - 2 PM. University Health and Counseling Services will be hosting a Fresh Check Day.
Fresh Check Day is an uplifting mental health promotion and suicide prevention event for colleges that includes interactive expo booths, peer-to-peer messaging, support of multiple campus departments and groups, free food, entertainment, and exciting prizes and giveaways. Fresh Check Day aims to create an approachable and hopeful atmosphere where students are encouraged to engage in dialogue about mental health and helps to build a bridge between students and the mental health resources available on campus, in the community, and nationally.
We encourage any, and all CWRU, CIA, CIM and KSU School of podiatry students (undergraduate and graduate) to join us for Fresh Check Day 2025! All participants who check in and submit a participation card are entered to win a raffle prize. Prizes will be announced closer to the date of the event.

CWRU Peer Health Educators (PHE) are students who are committed to creating a culture of wellness within the CWRU community. The purpose of the program is to advocate for and promote health choices, personal well-being and community safety through leadership, education, and awareness. Peer Health Educators provide workshops, services, and events to meet the health and wellness needs of CWRU students.
If you are interested in becoming a PHE or learning more about the program, please consider attending one of our Peer Health Education Information Sessions. Info sessions will be hosted in the beginning of September, dates and registration links are below.
Students are reminded that the deadline to waive student medical plan coverage for 2025/2026 academic year, and the accompanying fee, is Sept. 5, 2025.
If you already have health insurance coverage—and it meets the university’s waiver criteria—you may submit a request to have the student medical plan fee waived.
