The Super Bowl Edition 🏈
Greetings from the Greek Life Office! This Sunday, get ready for the biggest game of the year. THE SUPER BOWL!!! Even if your team didn't make it, there is so much to enjoy about the big game. Spending time with friends, the commercials, sudden power outages, consuming massive quantities of ice cream, the half-time show, and the food are all something to look forward to.
If you are invited to a Super Bowl party, chances are there will also be alcohol available. Please see the tips below if you are hosting or attending a party this Sunday. As the 49ers and Chiefs go at it, make sure you and your peers are staying well. The toilet bowl is NOT super so make sure to drink responsibly if you partake.
P.S. If you are attending your chapter's GB during the game, we hope your meeting will be speedy. Have a great week everybody!!
Tips for Hosting
Make sure all of your guests designate their sober drivers before kick-off or help arrange ride-sharing with other sober drivers
Serve plenty of food
Offer a variety of non-alcoholic choices like soft drinks, juice, and water
Serve one drink at a time and serve measured drinks
Only serve alcohol to guests over 21 years of age
Determine ahead of time when you’ll stop serving alcohol, such as one hour before the end of the party or at the end of the third quarter of the game (just like NFL stadiums) and begin serving dessert
Take appropriate steps to prevent anyone from driving while impaired
Be prepared for guests to spend the night if an alternative way home is not available
Tips for Watching at Home or Away
Designate your sober driver or rideshare before the party begins and leave your car keys at home if you plan to drink.
Avoid drinking too much alcohol too fast. Pace yourself—eat enough food, take breaks and alternate with non-alcoholic drinks.
Take appropriate steps to prevent anyone from driving while impaired. Remember, Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk.
