My name is Priscilla Jones, my nickname is PJ. I work for the Office of Accommodated Testing and Services, part-time as Office Assistant.
I retired from the Department of Veteran Affairs, after 25 years on May 31st of 2018. I began work there as a Ward Clerk for 5 years, I then applied and was promoted to the Department of Nephrology as a Clerk II, I so love this job because of the education I received regarding Dialysis, I was also able to interact with Dialysis Veterans, I enjoy their conversations and learned a lot from them. I stayed in this position for 7 years and then I resigned from the Department of Veteran Affairs.
I then started a home childcare with County Services, due to my love for children and teaching them. This entrepreneurship lasted 8 years, even though I enjoyed working from home reality of savings, pension and social security set-in, not much of this could be accomplished this way, so I decided to join the working force again.
I applied and was reinstated back to the Department of Veteran Affairs as Secretary for the Mental Health Department. After 3 years, I applied and was promoted to Patient Accounts-Billing, retiring from this position after 10 years.
After being out of the work-force for two years, I was pretty much doing nothing, other than walking and exercising. I decided I wanted to exercise my brain as well as my body, and also be around and communicate with other people, so here I am.
