Subject: UHCS Focus Groups for Grad Students

Hi First_Name,

UHCS Focus Groups

I hope everyone has been enjoying their summer so far! We at GCAS wanted to pass along this information from University Health & Counseling Services (UHCS). As part of the SAMHSA Suicide Prevention Grant awarded to UHCS, they are conducting focus groups to learn about graduate student mental health needs, challenges, and barriers in accessing mental health services, and receive feedback on current and desired mental health services. In order to participate, you must be at least 18 years old and be currently enrolled as a graduate or professional student. All students will receive a $20 Amazon gift card for participating. Depending on your preference, students are welcome to sign up for a General focus group or a BIPOC focus group; both groups will address similar content.

  • To learn more and sign up for a BIPOC focus group, please complete a form by clicking here.
  • To learn more and sign up for a General focus group, please complete a form by clicking here.
If you have filled out GCAS's mental health survey that we sent out every month in the newsletter this past school year (or even if you haven't), please consider joining these official focus groups and help the university understand the mental health needs of the graduate student population on campus! Your fellow students will greatly appreciate it.

Be on the lookout for more communication from GCAS as we get closer to the beginning of the school year! Until then, have a great rest of your summer!

Best,
The GCAS Executive Board
