Three Questions with Valerie Rambin
1. What does a typical day at work look like for you? Every day is different. I meet with students, recruit for our study abroad programs, and collaborate with colleagues from other Schools and departments. I might be helping a student with their passport application, participating in a recruiting event in the Tink, or coordinating with faculty on their study abroad course. I love that my job allows me to work closely with students, staff, and faculty from across campus.
- Where is your favorite spot on or near campus to work, read or study? The atrium at the [Cleveland] Museum of Art. It's a wonderful space to help put things in a different perspective or have a working lunch meeting. It really puts you in a different head space when you walk into the museum.
- What is one of your favorite hobbies, or what hobby would you pursue if you had more time? I love to cook for my family. We go to the farmers market every Saturday in the summer and fall to get our CSA (community supported agriculture) and other goodies. For me, it's been a great opportunity to try out new recipes, be more creative in the kitchen, and to think about eating and cooking more in tune with the seasons. We try really hard to sit down for family dinner every night and we are making every attempt to turn our kids into little foodies.
