Students are reminded that the deadline to waive student medical plan coverage for 2025/2026 academic year, and the accompanying fee, is Sept. 5, 2025.

If you already have health insurance coverage—and it meets the university’s waiver criteria—you may submit a request to have the student medical plan fee waived.

The waiver criteria and process can be found on the University Health and Counseling Services website. If you have questions, contact the student medical plan office at 216.368.3049, or by emailing medicalplan@case.edu.

Sun Safety

It's been a while since we have seen the sun in Cleveland. Here are a few reminders to help you practice sun safety this summer.

Where sunscreen!
  • Use a nickel-sized dollop of sunscreen for your face and neck. To protect your body, use 1 oz of sunscreen.
  • Choose a “broad spectrum” SPF to protect you from UVA and UVB rays.
  • Apply SPF to your body 30 minutes before you go in the sun, and reapply every 2 hours.
  • Use an SPF of 30 or higher. An SPF of 30 will block 97% of UVB rays.

For more information on how to pick the best sunscreen for you, please click here.
