Happy Thankful Season!

The past week was filled with creative costumes, fun activities, and over 3,500 pounds of smashed pumpkins! We seem to be in another wave of academic stress, however. Be sure to take care of yourself, reach out to your friends, and seek support.

The weekly newsletter will outline important information, updates and events happening within our community and on campus. If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to us. We are here to help!

Clarke Love,

Tessa, Justin & the RAs!

Jack Bash Recap

Thank you for everyone who came and supported Clarke RHA's annual Jack Bash! We dropped over 250 pumpkins out of the 11th floor window. We hope you enjoyed the event and join us for future events.

Mondays are for the Boys: Masculinity Mondays

Audience: CWRU Men-Identified Students

Masculinity Mondays is a new initiative presented by a group of fraternities on campus in which participants will discuss various topics and their relationship to masculinity.

The goal is to take a topic and build a discussion based on a piece of related media, giving participants the opportunity to connect personal experiences to shared values and evaluate what masculinity means to them in this new context. The most important part is to ask questions: “How can I apply these values to my daily life? What am I doing well and what can I do to improve?”

Students will meet Nov. 15 and Nov. 22. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the discussion from 6 to 7 p.m. Dinner will be provided. Prior to each session, students can visit the Masculinity Mondays Instagram page (@masculinitymondayscwru) to find that week’s topic, link to a piece of media and a brief preview of the discussion. The Instagram page also will include a link to CampusGroups to register for the next session.

Take care of you!

Reminders

COVID-19 Reminders & Mask Wearing

Update: Masks

Masks must be worn inside the building whenever you are not actively eating or drinking. You should pull your mask down between sips of a drink and not remove it completely. While this seems minor, it prevents masks being removed for prolonged periods of time. There has been a spike in cases following fall break and Homecoming. The masking policy is in place to avoid further restrictions on events and gatherings.

If there are any questions, feel free to reach out to Tessa and/or Justin.

BiWeekly Testing - It's not our week!

Undergraduates in university housing must test every other week. These students will use rapid tests, which involve self-administered nasal swabs and yield results within 15 minutes. Testing for Clarke Tower residents is in Wade Commons.
For detailed information on weekly testing, click here.

These protocols are helping all of us to stay on campus and in person!

How many cases are on campus? Check out the COVID dashboard here!

Guest Policy

You must meet your guests at the entrance of Clarke. There have been a variety of students asking to be let into the building to visit. We encourage you to bring your friends into our building! However, you must accompany them at all times. Allowing individuals who are not Clarke residents into the building creates a large safety risk.
