University Intensive Seminar 

Session 3

How to Get Admitted into High Ranking Colleges, Universities & Technical/Trade Institutes

Date: October 10, 2018 | 4:00 - 5:00PM | Guilford House

Purpose

This session is intended to provide Scholars with information about how an application should be developed to best position persons to be competitive when applying to colleges, universities, or other educational/professional institutions after high school graduation.

Objectives

At the end of the presentation, the Provost Scholar will be able to:

  • Discuss the knowledge and skill sets necessary to be accepted into high ranking colleges or universities, vocational and technical school, and other institutions of specialized learning and training.
  • Identify specific behaviors that are useful for Provost Scholars to evidence when seeking admission to high-ranking academic and technical institutions.

Agenda

  • 2:30 - 3:50 pm: Tutoring
  • 3:50 - 4:00 pm: Brief Intermission
  • 4:00 - 5:00 pm: University Seminar and Notetaking
  • 5:00 pm: Hors d'oeuvres

Speaker: Amani Green

Ms. Green is an Admissions Counselor at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). She has worked in admissions for several years, and has recruited students to the University from across and nation and the world community. During her visits, she shares with others the unique academic, social networking, research and service opportunities that are available at CWRU. Ms. Green will also discuss frequently asked questions during her visits to academic institutions.
