An update of Duo Security, CWRU's multi-factor login tool, recently took place that changes the voice prompts of the "Call Me" feature. Previously, users would be able to press any key to authenticate. A new prompt will request users to either "Press 1 to Authenticate" or "Press 2 to Report this as Fraud."

Universal Design for Learning
Universal design for learning (UDL) is a framework to improve and optimize teaching and learning for all people based on scientific insights into how humans learn.
UDL is all about teaching inclusively by making learning as approachable as possible for as many learners as possible. It's about identifying goals and barriers to reaching learning objectives, then designing learning to remove or reduce barriers to help all learners achieve their goals. Visit cast.org for more information and examples. Please also contact Francine Diaz, Digital Accessibility Coordinator with any questions or for more assistance.

Offered through CWRU's employee assistance program via IMPACT solutions: This webinar pulls back the curtain on why we do what we do with our money. Christine Luken's "Mindful Money Management" approach to personal finance is unique in that it harnesses the power of positive thought and emotions - and short circuits the negative ones. Participants will learn how to navigate emotional money situations with purpose and confidence, so you can ensure that your heart won't hijack your wallet. This webinar is available on demand during November, 2019. To access:
- Navigate to www.myimpactsolution.com.
- Click on "go to member login" box and log in with company code "CWRU."
- Click on the blue "webinar" box.
- Choose November webinar (either green button).
This year's Mandel School Winter Party will be on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 in the Noble Commons. Tap into your creative side and help make it amazing by joining the volunteer planning committee. Seeking 4-5 faculty and staff volunteers to create something fun and unforgettable. Email Melissa Van to volunteer. And, thank you!
Did you know that if you are non-exempt (paid 2X/month), you can take sick time in one-hour increments? Exempt staff (paid monthly) must use sick time in half-day increments (4 hours). For vacation time, all employee types must take time in half of full-day increments (4 or 8 hours). Contact Melissa Van with any questions.
Do you need quarters for a parking meter? Will your walking route take you past a vending machine that won't take your debit card? Need change for the barista's tip jar? The Harris Library can help you transform your currency! Visit the Circulation Window in the Noble Commons with your cash denomination of $10 or smaller, and they can exchange that for singles, fives, or any variety of coins. You may wonder, "how do they make money doing this?" The answer: Volume. (Just kidding: there is no fee!)
