I hope you had a restorative break and are rested and ready for the last few weeks of the semester. This is a busy time, but you are in the final stretch!

Just one brief announcement: please join your classmates for the first-ever Academic Exchange Experience next Friday, March 27, from 11:45-3:40 p.m. This student symposium brings together some of the most impressive work our students are producing across journals, seminars, and independent research. Through a series of panel presentations, students will engage the community in conversations on topics including healthcare reform, international law, civil rights, and the power of legal narrative. World Water Day Event

Tuesday, March 24, 2026, 12:00 p.m. | Room 159

Join the International Law Society, Refugee Outreach Committee, and Law for the Environment, Animals and Food in Celebrating World Water Day! They will be hosting a panel discussing water sustainability, protection, and conservation. Lunch will be provided. Come help the organizations raise awareness of the fundamental human right to clean water!

Author Talk and Book Signing – The Shawshank Redemption Revealed: How One Story Keeps Hope Alive

Thursday, March 26, 2026, 12:00–1:00 p.m. | Moot Courtroom | Snacks provided!

Author Mark Dawidziak will present a program based on his 2019 book The Shawshank Redemption Revealed: How One Story Keeps Hope Alive, which was published on the 25th anniversary of director Frank Darabont's film adaptation of Stephen King's novella. Filmed in Ohio and starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, The Shawshank Redemption has risen in popularity since its release in 1994, reaching No. 1 on IMDB's list of most-loved movies. Dawidziak conducted more than 70 interviews for the book, talking to King, Darabont, Robbins, and Freeman, as well as extras, supporting players, and behind-the-scenes talent. A book signing will follow the event.

SALSA PD Panel and Happy Hour

Join the South Asian Law Student Association (SALSA) and the Asian American Bar Association for a PD Panel and Happy Hour on Thursday, March 26th, starting at 5:30PM in the Moot Courtroom. We will start with a Q & A Panel with attorneys of colors discussing their experiences in the legal community at 5:30PM. Afterwards, please join us for a Happy Hour sponsored by Taft at the Jolly Scholar!

SPILF Gala 

Friday, March 27, 2026, 6:00 p.m.–9:00pm | Upper Rotunda

Please join the Student Public Interest Law Fellowship (SPILF) for its Annual Gala being held on March 27th from 6 pm - 9 pm in the Upper Rotunda! The Gala is a chance for students to get dressed up, socialize, eat good food, and participate in a silent auction. Professors and local businesses donate items and experiences for students to bid on, such as dinners at local restaurants or Guardians tickets. There is also an online auction featuring themed gift baskets, like a Lego Basket and a Self-Care Basket. Tickets are only $15, and all proceeds go towards SPILF's Scholarship fund to help make low-paying public interest jobs more accessible for all students! If ticket price is a barrier for you, please reach out to Evaleigh Noel (eon6@case.edu)—SPILF will find a way for students to get tickets even if finances are a barrier to attendance.

Summer Course Registration

Enrollment for summer courses is now open and will continue through the start day of each course.  Early registration is encouraged, as courses that don't meet minimum enrollment numbers by late April may be subject to cancellation.

Scholarly Commons

We are happy to announce a major upgrade to the law school’s Scholarly Commons page. The new site features better graphics, easier navigation, and more pictures. We continue to add new content – most recently, the Case Global magazine published by the Frederick K. Cox International Law Center. Our Scholarly Commons features over 14,000 documents, with over 1.365 million downloads during the past year and over 7.5 million downloads since 2014.

SALSA Gala

Friday, April 3, 2026, 7:00 p.m.–11:00 pm | Lake Affect Studios

The South Asian Law Student Association (SALSA) Gala will take place at Lake Effect Studios on April 3, from 7 pm to 11 pm. The theme is "Stamped: A Passport to South Asia." There will be food, music, dancing, and the opportunity to "travel" through major cities across the South Asian region! Tickets can be bought via CampusGroups and are $15 for CWRU students, $25 for non-CWRU students, and $30 for couples. More details can be found here.
