Native American Heritage Month

November is Native American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Native American and Indigenous communities. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on the ongoing resilience of these communities in the face of historical and present-day challenges. We encourage you to explore resources, participate in campus and local events, and learn about the Indigenous people of Lenape, Oneida, Ottawa, and Wyandot, whose lands we inhabit within Cuyahoga. In recognizing the land upon which we reside, we express our gratitude and appreciation to those who lived and worked here before us; those whose stewardship and resilient spirit make our residence possible on this traditional homeland of the Lenape (Delaware), Shawnee, Wyandot Miami, Ottawa, Potawatomi, and other Great Lakes tribes (Chippewa, Kickapoo, Wea, Pinakahsw, and Kaskaskia). We also acknowledge the thousands of Native Americans who now call Northeast Ohio home. Let’s take this month to build a more informed and inclusive community by honoring and recognizing the Indigenous voices and stories that are integral to our shared history.

Let's Taco Bout' It

Lunch and Conversation for the CWRU Greek Life Community facilitated by the GLO. This month we will discuss recruitment. Whether you are in a fraternity or sorority, this conversation is for you. We will not be talking about the structure of recruitment, but rather, how to be a successful recruiter for your chapter. Bring your best suggestions and an open mind to learn from others.

All members of the Greek Community are invited. Lunch (tacos) will be provided. Please register by 8 AM on Wednesday, November 13. This allows adequate time to order enough food for all attendees.

Giortaste

Giortaste
is an annual recognition banquet celebrating the prior year's achievements of the Greek community. This event takes into consideration the hard work, impact, and excellence of Greek Leaders & Citizens in 2024. The Greek word Giortaste, means "to celebrate," and this ceremony is as such a celebration of Greek achievements in 2024. Please consider the impact individuals have made on the entire Greek community when nominating individuals for these awards. Please consider the efforts of individuals and organizations in the calendar year 2024. Keep an eye out for further emails about this event and invitations to nominees. With questions about nominations or Giortaste, please reach out to bww32@case.edu.

Giortaste Nomination Form. Nominations close on December 8th, 2024 @ 11:59 PM. Nominate your peers and/or yourself during this 1-month nomination period, and share the form with Chapter members.

Your Chapter should take note that Girotaste will take place on February 18th, 2025 from 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM in the Thwing Excelsior Ballroom.
