Mandel School Newsletters

Faculty, staff and students have all expressed a desire to reduce email clutter.  Instead of sending individual emails to a Google group email, consider submitting your information for inclusion in one of the Mandel School’s three newsletters (targeted to either faculty, staff or students).  Click here for more information, including who to contact for each newsletter.

Working in an Open Office

Open office environment guidelines have been created with input from each research area and department via the Staff Climate Expanded Working Group.  Click here for a convenient 1-pager that contains expectations of how we use our shared spaces and cooperate with each other.  Please review these guidelines and be informed.  They apply to all of us - whether you work in those spaces or just visit those who do.

UTech Support for Special Events

The UTech team at the Mandel School is available to assist with special events. Request support by emailing msass-utech@case.edu with the details of your event.  Please note this is in addition to reserving your space as you would normally do.

Two to four weeks lead time is requested for all events so that we can understand the event requirements and identify the appropriate technology solution. Some events may require MediaVision or vendor support, equipment rental or testing of the technology before the event. Event sponsors will be made aware of any expenses prior to the event.

Attention Researchers: Changes to the Common Rule

The Common Rule governs all research involving human subjects conducted, supported, or otherwise subject to regulation by any Federal department or agency that chooses to implement these regulations.

In 2017, the Common Rule was revised with an implementation date of January 21, 2019. Major changes include informed consent documents and the frequency of continuing review.  For more information (including a full summary of the major changes), CWRU IRB's implementation, and how CWRU IRB studies may be affected, visit the Office of Research and Technology Management website here. Please contact Sue Ambro or Kim Volarcik in the CWRU IRB Office at kimberly.volarcik@case.edu with additional questions.

LINK Silent Auction - April 16

Mark your calendars for the LINK (Local International Konnection) silent auction on Tuesday, April 16th from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the Noble Commons.  Please contact Kim McFarlin if you wish to donate a unique item from around the world.  A portion of the auction proceeds will be dondated to an organization selected by LINK.
