Subject: Child Care Survey

Hello Arts & Sciences Family,

Many of you may have already seen the email from President Kaler earlier this week regarding the Child Care Survey. The university is considering an on-site daycare facility, after many years of faculty, staff, and grad students asking for this important service. We urge all of you to take this survey! Even if you don't have children now, but think you MAY have children at some point in your time here, please take the survey. This is an important chance to have our voices heard!

Thanks so much!

To the Case Western Reserve University Community:

Today, we write to encourage faculty, students, post-docs and staff with children ages five and under or who are considering becoming a parent within the next five years to complete the university’s 2023 Child Care Survey. Your responses will help us to understand how, when and where members of our campus community use child care for children who are not yet school aged, as well as anticipated child care needs and preferences.

This information will assist the university in determining if it needs to adjust current child care support programs and/or create new ones, including the need for an early childhood child care center on campus.

This survey was created in collaboration with the Faculty Senate Committee on Women, the Staff Advisory Council and the Faculty Parents Group. We are grateful for their support and feedback throughout this process.

The survey will remain open for two weeks. We appreciate your responses by 5 p.m., Wednesday, March 15.

Thank you in advance for your time and for helping us to collect more information about our community’s child care needs.

Sincerely,
Eric W. Kaler, President
Ben Vinson III, Provost and Executive Vice President
