Support through Summer

As we move toward the summer months, University Health & Counseling Services will continue to offer our services, including all the remote care that we recently launched- primary care, injury/illness care, mental health services, virtual workshops and the wellness newsletter.

Students can call (216) 368-2450 to speak with a 24/7 nurse on call or (216) 368-5872 to speak with a 24/7 counselor on call.

Graduating students can visit the University Health & Counseling Services website for information on eligibility for services.

Our website is the best place to look for information on all UH&CS services & programs, including current hours and how to schedule an appointment.

Alcohol and Drug Resources

It's common during times of transition to see an increase in alcohol or drug use. In addition to information on our services, there are several self-assessment tools you can find on the UH&CS to give you an idea about how alcohol and other substances impact your life.

  • 360 Proof360 Proof is a Personalized Feedback Index (PFI) designed to provide students with information about their alcohol use. The PFI takes 10-15 minutes to complete the questions and about 5-10 minutes for the student to read their personalized feedback.

  • Alcohol and Mental Health Screeninghe ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County offers FREE and anonymous online screenings that feature Video Doctor (for depression and alcohol screenings), an online tool that simulates a conversation with a doctor and guides a person through a series of questions about his/her emotional well-being and readiness to seek help.

  • eCheck-up to Go- The eCHECKUP TO GO program is a personalized, evidence-based, online prevention intervention for marijuana developed by counselors and psychologists at San Diego State University.

For information on how to help yourself, or a friend who may have a probelm with alcohol and substance abuse, please visit the UH&CS website for tips.

Motivated to Moderate

For students who are concerned about their use of alcohol and/or various other substances. It is a non-abstinence based program, which means it is not required that students want to stop using, but must acknowledge that their substance use plays a role in their lives. Students will set personal goals and work towards making changes that are meaningful to them.

These sessions provide virtual access to informal, 30 minute, confidential consultations.

Sessions are available:
Tuesdays 11:00am- 12:00pm
Thursday's 3:00- 4:00pm

Students must register in advance and pick a call time. Zoom information will be sent after registration.

There's an App for That

Zombies, Run!

This app is perfect for students who are missing Humans vs. Zombies this semester! Zombies, Run! Is a free app that can make walking, jogging, and running a bit more fun. The app turns movement into a game. There are storylines, prompts to move faster when being chased by zombies, and by completing missions, you collect gear to bring back to your base.
