From: Office of Multicultural Affairs Date: February 14 Subject: [CWRU Black History Month programs] from OMA
Why a separate newsletter for Black History Month?
Black history is all of our history, and we in OMA want the campus to know not just what is happening from OMA, but throughout campus. We know events on Black history are not just scheduled in February, but we wanted to pay special attention to these events.
Yes, this email is going out on February 14, almost halfway through this month of 29 days. That is because although CWRU members are great at planning events celebrating this month, we are not always the best at communicating them with one another across campus. If we included your event, you are welcome - but if we missed it somehow, we apologize.
If we sent this out back on February 1, we did not know about half these events listed below. But even by waiting and sending this out today, we are sure we will still miss events that have been scheduled and yet to be publicized. We are trying to meet in the middle, at least for this year.
OMA wants to work for the overall CWRU campus on publicizing cultural events. If you do not put your events on CampusGroups or Instagram, (we highly recommend CampusGroups) please drop us an email with information so that we can include it in our weekly newsletters. These are opened by about 3,200 campus community members!
