Good Afternoon, CWRU Undergrad!

Hope everyone's having a great Wednesday afternoon! With finals coming up, there's not much for me to add here. I know everyone's probably stressed out studying (not cramming) for their exams, so I will keep it brief today! Please look over the rest of the email for some upcoming events and some wellness tips to help you during this stressful finals season. You got this!

Retaining What You Studied

Studying is crucial for academic success, but not unless you actually retain that information. During this rather arduous period of the semester, consider these tips to help retain information that you've spent time and effort into mastering.

1. Teach Others: being able to explain your thoughts in a linear fashion is one of the best ways to test your ability to not just memorize the information, but understand the information. Try to relay the information you learned to a friend, making sure to answer any question that he/she/they may have. Check your answer to the question accordingly to see if you got the question right or wrong.

2. Ask ChatGPT: bless the Internet (sometimes), seriously. Ask ChatGPT to make you practice exams, such as fill in the blank questions or multiple choice questions for the exam you are studying for. This can help you remember and recollect information, and test your understanding of the concept at hand.

3. Mnemonic Devices: creating memorable acronyms are always helpful when it comes to memorization, especially when the mnemonic renders the information self-explanatory. Switch up your memorization techniques by implementing this strategy from time to time, giving your brain a rest from rote memorization.
