On the Move - Welcome to the Mandel School

Ryan McMaster joins the Begun Center as a Research Data Manager today.  His desk will be in the Mandel Center.  He retired from the United States Air Force in October, 2019 after almost 22 years of service, most recently in the intelligence field.  Having worked in downtown Cleveland for the last three years with law enforcement, he was introduced to the Begun Center team and has enjoyed collaborating with them.  Now he's extremely excited to be able to join them and take on a very new, challenging, career path.  He has been married for 18 years and has three girls in high school.  He is excited to get to know Case Western Reserve University and his new colleagues at the Mandel School.

CWRU IRB Walk-In Office Hours

  • Friday, December 13, 9 - 11 a.m.
  • Thursday, December 19, 2:30 - 4:30 p.m.

  • Friday, January 24, 10 - 11 a.m.

All CWRU faculty, staff, and students are welcome to use walk-in office hours to get assistance with any part of the IRB protocol submission process. During the walk-in office hours, the IRB administrators will be available meet with you and advise you on appropriate policies, templates and resources necessary for your specific protocol submission. These sessions may also be used for help designing a protocol that would fit the exempt or expedited category of review. These sessions do not take the place of actual protocol submission through Sparta IRB nor the official review by the IRB committee.

Not able to stop by during walk-in hours?  Call or email the IRB Office to set up an appointment.  They can be reached at (216) 368-6925 or cwru-irb@case.edu.

Please contact Sue Ambro with any additional questions.

Free Webinar: Putting out the Fire - Preventing and Managing Burnout

Offered through CWRU's employee assistance program via IMPACT solutions:  Contemporary professional demands not only cause stress, but chronic stress. Burnout impacts productivity, morale, and financial and legal bottom lines due to the health-related costs of burnout.  This webinar is available on demand during December, 2019.  To access:

A Little Campus History

Clark Hall

Formally known as Clark Hall of Liberal Arts, Clark Hall was completed in 1892 and designed by Richard M. Hunt, a noted architect at the time.  It was the first building completed for the Mather College for Women at a cost of $60,000 and it originally contained the College's classrooms, offices, chapel, and library.  It is named after Eliza Clark who donated $100,000 for its construction and to create an endowment.  Today, it houses College of Arts and Sciences departments and classes.
