This organization shall; (1) promote student interest and further improve the quality of the Microbiology program at Case Western Reserve University; (2) promote community interest in microbiology; (3) provide aid for students interested in microbiology at the Case Western Reserve University with respect to the academic curriculum, research, employment, and (4) promote student participation in local, state, and national ASM meetings.

Membership is open to all graduate students in the School of Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, specifically those interested in the mission statement of the organization, as well as URM and allies. All members will be instated by requesting that they themselves be added to our Discord by one of the executive board members. All members are encouraged to attend any and all events sponsored by CARE, which include general body meetings, presentations, graduate student mentoring programs, and decompression sessions. Members are also allowed and encouraged to speak their mind openly about controversial topics in a productive way that furthers the mission of the organization. All members must be an active member of CARE for at least one year to be considered for the roles of President, Vice President, Mentorship Chair, Resource Chair, Treasurer, First-Year Representative, and Publicity Chair. Upon joining, members are encouraged to take a survey regarding ethnicity, race, socioeconomic background to be used as information about the group for the department. Any member is allowed to opt out of completing this survey.
