The Academic Integrity Board is a group of students, faculty, and administrators who are committed to academic integrity and to raising the awareness of integrity issues at Case Western Reserve University. The Board conducts programs for both students and faculty to promote discussion about issues of integrity on campus. Our goal is to foster a campus environment where integrity is affirmed and celebrated by all members of the academic community. Case Western Reserve University’s Anatomy Camp is an immersive educational program run by medical student volunteers. Anatomy Camp was designed with the primary goal of igniting curiosity and passion for STEM, more specifically in the field of medicine, among students from underserved middle and high schools in Cleveland, Ohio. We aim to expose students to various aspects of medicine including physical diagnosis, simulated patient interviewing, and anatomy of the human body through a virtual reality technology called HoloLens. We also inspire and encourage students to pursue careers in healthcare, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, provide hands-on learning opportunities and access to educational resources that may be limited in their regular school settings, and foster mentorship relationships between the high school students and medical student volunteers.

When you volunteer for Anatomy Camp, you gain hands-on teaching experience in a fun environment. You'll have the chance to share your knowledge and passion for medicine with middle and high school students. This enhances the teaching skills you will one day use for patients and can deepen your own understanding of medical concepts.

Anatomy Camp is also an opportunity to engage in outreach efforts for underprivileged schools, helping to inspire the next diverse generation of medical professionals and STEM enthusiasts. Volunteers get to make a real impact in the community.

Volunteers also get the opportunity to briefly engage in public speaking, answering questions about medical school life. Participating in the educational sessions can improve your communication skills and boost your confidence, preparing you for future patient interactions and professional presentations.

We send out regular event reminders and detailed information about upcoming events to ensure volunteers never miss an opportunity to participate.

When you volunteer, you will engage in:
Mock IQ Sessions: Interactive sessions where students work through clinical cases, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Hololens/Anatomy Sessions: Utilizing our virtual reality platform to provide a hands-on learning experience about human anatomy and physiology. (The kids love this!!)
Q&A Sessions (Med Students on Truth Serum): An informal and candid discussion where medical students answer questions about their daily lives and experiences in medical school.

The Case Western Reserve University Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) Pi Chapter was founded in 1930 and is the 16th chapter of more than 300 chapters nationwide. We are an honors organization for accounting students. Each week we have professional speakers from public accounting and industry come in to speak to our members. Our chapter also gives back to the community through volunteer events at the Cleveland Foodbank, Ronald McDonald House, and in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance IRS program regularly.

As a member of Beta Alpha Psi, students will join a globally recognized organization that will open doors to outstanding career opportunities in the field of finance, accounting, business analytics or digital technology. Events: We host events throughout the year that are focused on exposing medical students to various aspects of Cardiology. Our past events have included medical device workshops, mentor speed dating, an EKG workshop, a Echocardiography workshop, and more!
Mentorship & Networking: CIG hosts several networking events designed to provide medical students interested in Cardiology with the opportunity to connect with mentors who may align with their interests within the field and can serve as longitudinal mentors for students. Faculty who attend these events are highly motivated to work with medical students and are usually open to allowing students to shadow and in many cases, become involved with their current research.
Research Guidance: CIG is currently working on a database of faculty members that have previously worked with medical students on various research topics relating to the field of Cardiology.
[Under Development–Cardiology Elective]: The Cardiology elective which will hopefully be launching in Fall 2024 aims to expose medical students to various subspecialties within the field of Cardiology. The format of the elective is expected to be a combination of a speaker series and journal club type elective that will span 8-10 weeks.

The Carolyn L. Farrell Foundation for Brain Health has multiple enrichment and wellness programs for individuals with dementia and other cognitive health issues. During the sessions, student volunteers will join program directors in leading interactive sessions, including arts, dance, and music. Volunteer opportunities include weekly sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday at the Center for Artful Living. An additional volunteer opportunity includes monthly Memory Cafe programs hosted at various Cuyahoga County public libraries, some in partnership with the Cleveland Clinic Center for Geriatric Medicine.

In keeping with CWRU's commitment to give back to the community, Doc Opera is a fundraising event for CWRU's Student Run Health Clinic. Our mission is to raise money for the program to provide quality healthcare and related services to those in our local community who lack adequate access or means.

Our secondary mission is to provide a venue for creative expression and interprofessionalism among the medical community and health professional students of Cleveland. Due to increasing popularity, attendance in recent years has reached over 1,000 guests per show, enabling us to donate tens of thousands of dollars to the Student Run Health Clinic. Doc Opera is a non-profit organization that relies on area businesses to help us defray the costs of production and to contribute to the annual donation we make to the Free Clinic. We are grateful for the donations and support we have received from many diverse businesses in various neighborhoods throughout the Cleveland area.
