 Meeting Minutes 

Happy Monday Mandel Community!

I hope everyone's school year is starting out well. Today is National Chocolate Milkshake day! Jolly Scholar and Mitchell's are a couple of great places on campus to grab a milkshake! 
Hispanic Heritage Month starts this Thursday the 15th. Head over to Campus Groups to look out for information from La Alianza or other student groups on campus. Have a wonderful week.

Student Club Funding Application

Mandel Council would love to help fund your event! Mandel Council works to help support our clubs where we can. Please understand, Mandel Council may not be able to fund the entire event, reach out to Hannah Gill with any questions.

Black Student Association

The Black Student Association works to enhance the quality of life for students of color attending the Mandel School, and empower people of color through advocacy, relationship building, and creating safe spaces for said groups to feel free from cultural persecution and stigma.

Students interested in the Black Student Association, join their GroupMe. 

Voter Registration / Center for Civic Engagement and Learning with Mandel Student Services

Wednesday, September 14th in Noble Commons from 1:00 - 1:45 pm. 
Feel free to bring a bagged lunch. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

Join us for an interactive session with pizza lunch and time to connect with students, faculty and staff!  More programming is planned throughout fall semester, so watch your email for updates.

We are planning to offer more programming as an ongoing series. If you have questions or ideas for future sessions, please contact mandelstudentservices@case.edu

Mandel Council Meetings

Our first meeting of the semester will be September 21st at 8:00 pm via Zoom. All Mandel Council meetings are open sessions, and all students are welcome and encouraged to come. The meeting link will be sent out via email the week of.

Katz Policy Lecture: Diversity in Aging

Thursday, Sept. 29 | 1 to 3 p.m. | Zoom | PD Hours Available
This year's Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging's Katz Policy Lecture will examine diversity in aging with keynote speaker, Lauren Pongan, National Director for the Diverse Elders Coalition. PD credit has been approved for this event.

 

Florence Cellar Gerontology Conference

Friday, Oct. 14 | 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. | CEUs/PD Hours Available
Registration is open for the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing's 25th Florence Cellar Gerontology Conference. This year's theme is “Care of the Older Adult in the Time of Covid: the Good, the Bad, the Ugly, and the Path Forward.” This one-day conference runs from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the TVUC Ballroom. The keynote speaker is Dr. Amy Acton, former director of the Ohio Department of Health. Social Work CEs/PDs are pending, and student scholarships are available.

Student Run Health Clinic

Volunteer this semester with the Student Run Health Clinic (SRHC). It's a great way to learn how to work in an interdisciplinary team with other mastery level students on campus. Volunteering counts for 2 PD hours in our field curriculum requirements.
