Description: 
CWRUcio Quidditch Team and CWRU for Autism Acceptance present Spartan Run for Autism! This 5K charity run / walk is open to all members of the Cleveland community and will begin on DiSanto football field at Case Western Reserve University on Sunday, September 5th at 9:00 AM. The route passes through the Case Western campus, returning to DiSanto field at the end. All proceeds of this event will be donated to The Orange Effect Foundation, a charity dedicated to funding speech therapy for autistic children and others with speech disorders. To learn more about Orange Effect, please refer to the links at the bottom of the description. The first 50 who register will receive a free Spartan Run for Autism t-shirt! Reserve your tickets online at Campus Groups for $7! Additional donations will be accepted!

The race will proceed rain or shine! 

COVID-19
Increasing COVID-19 cases within Northeast Ohio have prompted Case Western Reserve to resume its requirement that masks be worn indoors. In addition, only those who are fully vaccinated (two weeks past their final dose) should attend any campus event. Leaders continue to monitor pandemic developments and may need to adjust health protocols further as circumstances warrant. In-person is subject to change based on COVID-19 guidelines.
  • Must be fully vaccinated to attend 
  • Masks are NOT required as long as social distancing of 6 feet or more is maintained during this entirety of this event
  • Masks are REQUIRED If you would like to run/walk in a group where social distancing of 6 feet or more cannot be maintained
  • Race Volunteers will be ensuring that social distancing is maintained or alternatively ask individuals to mask

Minor Waiver: 
If you are under 18 years of age, you are required to fill out a "Minor Release for participation and photos.". You will not be able to checkout without downloading this file and then uploading it on the next page after clicking "register." An attachment of this form can also be found at the bottom of this description. 

Timeline: 
9:00 AM - Packet Pick Up and Registration
9:45 AM - 5K Walk/Run Starts
11:00/11:15 AM - Awards Ceremony

  • An overall map as well as a detailed map of the start and finish of the race has been provided to clarify which direction the race proceeds in. 
Directions of how to navigate the race route can be found here. There will be plenty of volunteers to direct you, so no need to memorize these instructions!

Parking
Please park in the adjoining parking garage behind DiSanto Field, Lot 46. An attendant will be present and parking will cost $7.

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 male and female runners in the following age categories:
18 and under
19-30
31-49
50 and above

Sales: 
Online Sales available through Campus Groups. If you prefer to pay in-person, we accept cash or checks made out to "The Orange Effect Foundation." All sales (online and in-person) close Friday, September 5th, 2021 at 9:45am when the race begins.
