Details
In this 2-hour workshop, participants will learn the basics science policy on the federal level. We will start with how the federal budget and appropriations process directs science policy, how to identify relevant stakeholders and decision makers in the policy process, and how to craft a message for your target audience. Please bring a computer and be ready to engage.
The workshop will be lead by Bill Lenart, founder and president of the CWRU Science and Human Rights Coalition. This workshop is based on his experiences as a AAAS representative at the Catalyzing Advocacy in Science and Engineering (CASE) Workshop 2018. Bill also has experience directly advocating to elected officials from Cleveland City Hall to the US Senate as both a political activist and science advocate.
