9:30 AM – 10:45 AM
Convocation is the university-wide ceremony where the president confers degrees to all the graduates. It is a traditional ceremony that is attended by many faculty, guests and dignitaries, and is the only time that all of the university's graduates are together for a ceremony. The convocation speaker gives the commencement address, and honorary degrees are presented to recognize excellence in human endeavor. No diplomas are presented to students during convocation.
Convocation begins at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the Veale Convocation Center.
Attendance at convocation is required for all undergraduate students, along with graduates of the School of Medicine and graduates of the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences. Attendance is optional for graduates of other schools.
Tickets are required for guests. For guests without tickets, the convocation will be broadcast in several auxiliary viewing locations on campus and via a live webcast.
11:15 AM – 2:00 PM
Any student receiving a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from the Case School of Engineering, College of Arts and Sciences, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing or Weatherhead School of Management participates in both the university-wide convocation ceremony and undergraduate studies diploma ceremony.
Tickets are required for guests to attend.

11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Only students receiving the degree of MD (Doctor of Medicine) participate in the School of Medicine Diploma Ceremony. Graduates must attend the University Convocation in order to participate in the diploma ceremony.
Guests do not need tickets in order to attend the School of Medicine Diploma Ceremony.

Students receiving the degrees of DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) and MSD (Master of Science in Dentistry) participate in the School of Dental Medicine Diploma Ceremony.
Guests do not need tickets in order to attend the School of Dental Medicine Diploma Ceremony.
