The National Lawyers Guild is the oldest nationwide progressive bar association that primarily advocates for prison abolition and protestor rights. NLG is well-known for its legal observer program, in which laypeople can get trained to record police misconduct at protests.
NLG collaborates with other organizations in the law school to host the only annual Public Interest Night of Networking. Executive Board officers also organize the Week of Abolition in the spring semester, which will include speaker panels and other exciting events!
