About Us

Chapter History

The Theta Zeta chapter at CWRU was founded on November 22, 2014.

Our chapter strives to ensure amongst our members a perpetual bond of friendship, develop a strong womanly character, and promote high standards of ethical conduct. We also encourage our members to live by our values: Wisdom, Power, Faith, Hope, and Love.

Many of our members represent our chapter as leaders on the CWRU campus as athletes, resident assistants, orientation leaders, tutors, tour guides, or with leadership positions in other organizations such as RHA, SpartanTHON, Relay for Life, USNA, Spectrum, and service/professional fraternities.

Academics

Academics is one of the things Tri Sigma does best. We like to focus on professional development with our alumni and on improving the individual sister through study hours and raffle incentives. Our big academic focused event is the annual scholarship banquet where we like to shout out our members who are doing fantastic work in their respective fields. Other ways in which we celebrate our academically inclined students is through special scholarship rings and shout outs during chapter.

Campus Involvement

Our Sigma sisters are very active around the CWRU campus. We currently have members who serve on the Joint IFC/PHC executive board. They help serve the greater greek community. Socially, we have members who are apart of University Media Board participating in theatre clubs and being apart of the Observer, the CWRU Student newspaper. We additionally have members who cheer on the CWRU Athletics teams as being a part of the CWRU Cheerleading squad. Some academic clubs our members are apart of are Quizbowl, Model UN, CWRU EMS, and we serve as TA's and SI's!

Sisterhood

With all of our sisters involved with so many different activities on and around campus, it is important to make sure we have time for each other as well. Our chapter has a Events and Member Retention Manager, who is responsible for planning events that strengthen our bonds with fun activities for everyone. These events have included a trip to a roller skating rink, a weekend potluck brunch, TopGolf, as well as many more. In addition, we have a sisterhood week every year leading up to the start of classes in August.

Social

Our Sigmas love to mix! Throughout the year we take part in multiple mixers with other sororities and fraternities. From game nights to blind date mixers, we are open to mingling! In addition, we throw our date party in the fall and our formal in the spring. We participate in Greek games where we compete against the other sororities throughout the fall and spring and we engage with the other chapters by attending their philanthropy events and through throwing our own.
