Martyrs’ Day in Madagascar
This is a very special celebration in the country! Held in honor of all those people who died in the 1947 revolt against the French, (called the Malagasy Uprising) it is a public holiday on this island. This day also goes by the names ‘Commemoration Day’ or ‘Insurrection Day.’ Commemoration Of Boganda
This national holiday is observed in the Central African Republic. It aims at honoring Barthélemy Boganda, the nation’s first prime minister, Barthélemy Boganda, on the anniversary of his death. He was a Central African politician and independence activist. He served as the first Premier of the Central African Republic as an autonomous territory.

The annual Unity Banquet celebrates the academic achievements of underrepresented and diverse graduate and undergraduate students at CWRU as well as graduating seniors by awarding thousands of dollars in scholarships each spring. The evening also serves as an opportunity to recognize future students and CWRU community partners. Transportation for students is free, and will be from Sherman House on the North side of campus. There will be shuttles that will pick up at the following times: 4:45pm & 6:15pm. (They leave at those times so please be early to get a seat).

Envision Weekend is an early arrival program designed to help underrepresented minority students visualize the rich future ahead of them at Case Western Reserve University.

NEW Leadership Ohio Summer Institute
NEW Leadership™ is a national bi-partisan program that addresses the underrepresentation of women in American politics. This 5-day residential program on the Ohio State campus is made for college students who want to run for office or work on a campaign. It introduces them to successful women leaders and strategies to run and win political campaigns.
We are looking for students studying math to be camp counselors (along with high school counselors, and middle school campers). This is the 2nd year we are putting on camp, and we are looking to double our size of helpers/campers.
