Need an Extension for
Your I-20 or DS-2019?

If your I-20 or DS-2019 will expire at the end of the semester, but you're not ready to graduate, you may need to apply for an extension.  Remember, you must request an extension before your I-20/DS-2019 expires! Also, allow plenty of time for the VISA Office to process your request.  Initiate your request through Terra Dotta and identify an advisor (academic advisor or dean, see below) who will then be contacted to upload information on your behalf.

Undergraduates should list their Dean in Undergraduate Studies.
Graduate students should list their academic advisors.

VISA advisors will review all of the material and contact students by email when their new, extended document is ready.

Daylight Saving Time Ends November 5th

In the United States, Daylight Saving Time will end on Sunday, November 5th at 2am. That means that we will set our clocks back (or fall back) by 1 hour, making the time 1am. Please make sure that you are aware of how this change will impact your classes and appointments!

Enjoy the extra hour of sleep on November 5th!

Campus Happenings

Fall Festival

The Case School of Engineering Peer Advisors will host a free Fall Festival Friday, Nov. 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Van Horn Field.

All Case Western Reserve University undergraduates and graduate students are invited to attend to engage in fall-themed activities with campus engineering organizations.

There will be refreshments and food, including apple cider, popcorn, caramelized apples and fried pies.

Register here.

Queer Craft Circle + La Alianza

Drop in on Friday, November 3rd, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm in the Tink 1st floor conference room to make crafts, meet people, and de-stress after a week of classes. Supplies such as embroidery floss, Perler beads, a button-maker, paper & coloring utensils, will be provided, but feel free to bring your own craft project to the space.

This week, La Alianza is joining Queer Craft Circle to make DIY papel picado.  You DO NOT have to identify under the LGBTQ+ umbrella to attend, as long as you are willing to craft.

Other Opportunities

Project Yield

Clocks move back one hour on Sunday, November 5, which means people traveling in the early evening hours will experience darker conditions than before. Dark conditions are linked to increased crash risk, especially for pedestrians.

Pedestrian safety is the focus of Project Yield, a data-driven initiative to make University Circle safer for all travelers. Join the next Pedestrian Safety public meeting on Zoom on Wednesday, December 6 at 5:30 p.m. (register here)  for updates on Project Yield, and share your road safety concerns.

To find out more or to join their mailing list, email ugocircle@universitycircle.org

MIX: China's Southern Paradise (ages 21 and over only)

The Cleveland Museum of Art
Friday, November 3rd at 6:00 pm.

Immerse yourself in Chinese art, dance, music, and food. The evening features a rare Cleveland performance of the Pittsburgh-based Steel Dragon Martial Arts lion dancers. DJ Atomix spins a short opening set and then closes out the night spinning Chinese electro-club beats and popular crowd favorites. Chinese-inspired food items, cocktails, beer, and wine are available to purchase from Bon Appétit.
