About Us
Kendo is Japanese for "Way of the Sword." It is descended from the traditional Japanese art of sword-fighting. In Kendo, practitioners use bamboo swords called shinai and wear armor, called Bogu, for practice, sparring, and tournaments/competitions. As a modern martial art, Kendo also involves practicing kata or "forms'' using wooden swords called bokken. The Case Kendo Club hopes to provide students of all skill levels with the opportunity to learn, practice, and compete in Kendo events and tournaments.
