Part 1: Introduction to CBSD on November 18th, 10 – 12, in person, at the Mandel Center room 115
Part 2: System Dynamics Computer Simulation and Analysis on December 2nd, 10 – 12, at the Mandel Center room 115

The two sessions are independent so you can attend one or both. We ask that you register here

This two-part workshop introduces participants to community-based system dynamics (CBSD) as a participatory systems science method for engaging and working with organizations and communities to address complex problems and advance equity. The first part of the workshop will focus on a general overview of when and how to apply CBSD to identify systems underlying structural violence and the use of group model building. The second part will provide a demonstration of how results from group model building can be translated into computer simulation models that can in turn be quantitatively analyzed to identify leverage points and the underlying feedback mechanisms driving trends.

CWRU Sustained Dialogue Campus Network

The CWRU Sustained Dialogue Campus Network is a nationally-recognized and award-winning program that has benefited our campus by creating new initiatives, from their dialogue-to-action model to training faculty, staff and students with the tools of moderating difficult conversations and creating strong relationships across departments.

All Mandel School students, faculty and staff are invited to join one of two virtual information sessions to learn how the program can be beneficial to you personally and professionally. The Q&A-based workshops will detail the five stages of Sustained Dialogue, how campuses can use the dialogue-to-action process, and share relevant case studies to aid visioning.
