AdvantageCLE Tennis and Education is a non-profit organization that offers an afterschool program to Cleveland’s youth. Kids from grades 1-5 can participate in tutoring sessions in literacy intervention, wellness, homework help, and tennis instruction. Their goal is to empower students to reach their full potential on the court and in the classroom. Through CWRU SOM, we hope to form a connection between medical students and these kids to help foster their growth through various volunteering opportunities.

Our mission is to support diverse graduate students within the Case School of Engineering by fostering intersectionality and personal identity through community-building activities, mentorship, and resource sharing.

Membership is open to all graduate students in the School of Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, specifically those interested in the mission statement of the organization, as well as URM and allies. All members will be instated by requesting that they themselves be added to our Discord by one of the executive board members. All members are encouraged to attend any and all events sponsored by CARE, which include general body meetings, presentations, graduate student mentoring programs, and decompression sessions. Members are also allowed and encouraged to speak their mind openly about controversial topics in a productive way that furthers the mission of the organization. Education: HEAL Palestine is developing programs and projects to address the immediate and long-term educational needs of children in Palestine, with the goal of rebuilding the education system for a brighter future.

Aid: HEAL Palestine provides urgent humanitarian aid to those who need it most, including feeding thousands of children a day, shelter, clothing, and other basic necessities to save the lives of innocent children.

The Human Rights Initiative's (HRI) primary goal is to oversee the Asylum Clinic, which provides forensic documentation of the physical and psychological sequelae of torture and abuse experienced by individuals applying for asylum in the United States. The organization is guided by research from Physicians for Human Rights, which shows that inclusion of a medical affidavit in an asylum application significantly increases the likelihood of approval. HRI is a unique opportunity for medical student volunteers to learn about the profound nature of the struggles of asylum seekers and work directly with providers in the forensic examinations and legal affidavit preparation.

Street Law student volunteers facilitate an innovative teaching program in the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court's juvenile detention center on Friday afternoons during the social studies classes for youth between the ages of 14 and 17. Lessons aim to have the youth think about the law in a new way, and to educate detained juveniles about relevant legal topics, such as discrimination, crime and domestic law just to name a few. The ultimate goal of the program is to help as many detained juveniles as possible avoid relapses into the juvenile justice system because of a lack of knowledge about the legal system.

The Student Public Interest Law Fellowship (SPILF) at Case Western Reserve University School of Law is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that encourages students to engage in the practice of public interest law in order to correct our legal system's inequities. Public interest areas of law includes assisting the the poor; the un- and under- represented, those deprived of their rights, and the environment.

Students who work in public interest positions forgo paid summer internships in order to support the community.
