About Us
Ever wanted to try fencing after watching the Olympics? Are you an experienced fencer that needs a place to practice? Either way, the CWRU Fencing Club is the perfect place to start or continue your fencing journey. We practice all three weapons: Foil, Epee, and Saber; each has its own challenge and rules. The best part about this club, however, is the camaraderie. On and off the strip, we're a tight-knit group of friends who enjoy the unique sport of Fencing.
We compete in the Midwest Fencing Conference against other club teams as well as some varsity teams. This allows us to host a yearly tournament and visit other schools to compete. Some of the schools we have fenced include Cleveland State University, University of Michigan, Purdue University, Michigan State University, Oberlin College, and others. Tournaments are open to new and experienced fencers.
All skills levels are welcome and no gear is required, but we recommend coming in sneakers/fencing shoes, a shirt that can go under lamé, and athletic shorts/pants. Pants are mandatory for epee. Come give it a stab!
