The CWRU Fencing Club is a close-knit group of friends who love the unique and endlessly enjoyable sport of Olympic Fencing. We fence and compete in all 3 weapons: Foil, Epee, and Sabre. While the basics are the same, each has its own special form and rules of conduct.
We accept members of all skill levels and experience. Whether you have fenced competitively for years or would like to start now, we are always looking for eager new members. We encourage our fencers to have fun, make new friends, and stab them! If you have your own equipment, excellent! If not, we provide everything necessary to fence the weapon of your choice (and we encourage trying every weapon to find the one that suits you best)!
We compete in the Midwest Fencing Conference against other collegiate club teams as well as varsity teams, including some Division I schools. Practices are held in Adelbert Gym on Mondays and Wednesdays (6:30-8:30 pm) as well as Fridays (5:00-7:00 pm). Come out and give it a stab! Fencing at CWRU is a great opportunity to stay physically active and meet new friends.
