Help us Update Diversity 360
Next year is the 10th year anniversary of D360, and we'd like to update the list of microaggressions that we use in the student handout. If you have had something happen to you on campus at CWRU, please let us know here.
Microaggressions: Everyday insults, indignities, and demeaning messages sent to historically marginalized groups by privileged groups, irrespective of their intention, who may or may not be aware of the hidden messages being sent.
There is also the Community Concerns Reporting System (CCRS), which is a clear and streamlined process for reporting incidents of perceived mistreatment, cultural/ethnic insensitivity, and bias.
Congratulations to all the winners, but especially to Arlet Wright, to be given the Flora Award for Staff.
Arlet is the Senior Assoc Dean of Student Affairs & the Special Assistant to the VP of Student Affairs. She has also recently received the President’s Award for Distinguished Service, as well as the Engagement Excellence Award from the Office for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusive Engagement.
Arlet has provided over 35 years of service to CWRU, with accomplishments including reinvigorating the Thwing Center and Eldred Hall. Her presence is felt deeply on campus through her dedicated attendance at events and programs across the Division of Student Affairs and beyond. (OMA loves Arlet)
