Upperclass Experience

The Upperclass Experience (UCE) provides an environment in which residents can focus on a vision for their future by offering experiences to prepare for life after graduation.

The UCE community is located on the north side of campus. The community is considered apartment-style because one-to-nine students have individual bedrooms and share a full kitchen and in-suite bathrooms.

 
 

Stephanie Tubbs Jones Hall

Stephanie Tubbs Jones Residence Hall is located at 1576 E. 115th Street, just south of Wade Park. This hall houses 290 students in 106 apartments, ranging in size from one-bedroom to four-bedroom apartments. In addition, the building includes 8 "townhouse" style units. Each unit will be for 2 students. The residential section of the hall includes a main residential lounge with 8 academic nodes (study lounges). The first floor of the building includes community space which is open to the entire residential community. TV

This includes a reservable multi-purpose room, an active learning classroom and a public lounge.

Additional amenities include indoor bike storage, mailboxes, trash chutes and recycling locations on every floor, laundry room, residence life staff office, and an outdoor courtyards with gas grills.

1609 Hazel Apartments

1609 Hazel Apartments, also known as "Hazel House," is a residential facility built by the Cleveland Institute of Music and Case Western Reserve University undergraduates occupy the 4th and 5th floors of the complex while CIM residents will live on the 2nd and 3rd floors. 1609 Hazel Apartments includes 2 bedroom single occupancy apartments, 2 bedroom double occupancy apartments, 4 bedroom apartments, and studio apartments, accommodating approximately 114 upperclassmen.

The Hazel Apartments also uses a card access system that is different from Case. CWRU residents will be issued a key fob to enter the building, elevator, their apartment and their personal bedroom.

The Village, Houses 1 - 7

The Village at 115 was designed with the upperclass student in mind. This complex includes apartment-style housing with more than 50 different floor plans, common great room with fireplace and flat-panel television, dining room and kitchen, music practice rooms, group study rooms and conference rooms, laundry rooms, vending area, wireless networking throughout, and indoor bike storage.

The clock tower building also includes a number of amenities open to the entire North Residential Village community, including a Starbucks® Cafe and dance studio.

The Village at 115 is in the middle of Case's athletic fields. The eight buildings of the Village surround the field. The complex is also adjacent to the Wyant fitness center, a baseball diamond, softball diamond, and field event area. The basement of Houses 6 and 7 serve as the home various athletic team locker rooms.

Village Houses 1, 2, 3, 3A, and 4 are connected on the second, third, and fourth floors. Village House 5 is a standalone building. Village Houses 6 and 7 are connected on all floors.

Property Management Apartments

The Upperclass Experience includes the opportunity to live in University-Owned Apartments, which are managed by the Office of Property Management, but benefit from the support and resources provided by CWRU Residence Life. The properties include well-maintained and charming historic buildings.

Each building is called home by up to 80 upperclass students, creating an opportunity for small the formation of small, tight-knit communities. The PMAs offer a wide variety of living styles to suite a diversity of housing needs. These include one bedroom, one bath apartments (Twin Gables and 1680); and three bedroom apartments (Noble buildings, 1719, and 1727). Each apartment has a full kitchen and is furnished. Each building includes a laundry room, bike storage options, and mailboxes.
